What Amp to get for my car Audio System?

  • Hi, I am trying to upgrade the system in my 1993 Mazda Miata. The parts I have: Dual XDM6820: CD receiver RMS Power Output 18 watts Peak Output 50 watts Kicker KS600 Peak Power Handling 195 watts RMS Power Handling 65 watts Kicker KS69 Peak Power Handling 270 watts RMS Power Handling 90 watts Kicker CVT102 (10CVT102) Peak Power Handling 800 watts RMS Power Handling 400 watts I am wondering what size amp I would need for this setup and if someone can suggest a somewhat cheap but good quality model. Thanks!

    You need at least a 5 channel amplifier. (Or multiple amplifiers). EDIT: Yangstown is wrong. You have four interior speakers and a sub woofer which would require either a 4 channel amp for the interior and another amp for the sub OR (to make things simple) a 5 channel amp.

I'm not sure if you have components or coxial speakers but you only have four. A four channel amp will do. Edit 2: To audiogood - ofcourse everyone would wants to get good deals. and I'm not into budget brands. Dont you see the brands with my suggestions, kicker and fosgate vs yours mbquart. My suggestion was a much better deal and would provide more powerful bass than what you suggested. The asker stated he wanted to get something cheap but good quality.
