Subs for my truck help?

Need Help! i have a setup in my truck 2 12" P1 Rockford subs with a 600 w amp pushin.?

  • the bass sounds a little weak i dont have an aftermarket head unit but i used a line converter. Does the head unit affect the amount of bass your subs can put out? will its sound deeper with a aftermarket head unit?

    Yes very much so. The factory stereo is not good enuf "electronicly". Get a head unit that has a set of pre amp RCA hook ups. Get a good set of RCA cables because it makes a huge difference in sound quality. I prefer you get your products through crutchfield.com They will answer any questions you may have.

doesnt make THAT big of a difference unless you bought a shitty sub. or your just under powering your subs.... you said its a 600 watt amp... is that max or RMS? your subs rms at 150 each.... make sure your amp is pushing 300 rms when wired to the right ohm specs.... if that doesn't help then just buy BETTER subs and amp. most people say that for big bass you need to surpass 300 watts RMS for the entire system... get something better and spend your money... or stick with the little bass you have and be happy.... honestly as long as you installed a high to low frequency converter on the stock head unit getting an after market head wont change a thing... you'll still only be pushing 300 watts from your subs... and yea thats not that great. sorry if you thought you had a deal

DEPEND ON A STEREO U HAVE, AND A WHOLE ELECTRIC SYSTEM IN YOUR TRUCK, MAYBE YOUR ALTENATOR IS WEAK, MAYBE THE BATTERY, MAYBE THE STEREO DOESNT PUSH IT HARD ENOUGH... CHECK THE WHOLE SYSTEM AND ASK IT IN A MORE SPECIFIC WAY...
