Which subwoofers should I get?

  • Hi this isn't anything major... But anyway I was given this amp and subwoofer but I guess it was died or something (the subwoofer) so i was wondering what is the best subwoofers to match the amp i have that i can get without going over priced ($30+ or more each sub.) ? Amp's Information 1000W 4-Channel MAGNA-AUDIO MG-2553 BASS Boost / LPT (some other stuff it said) 30a Fuse (on the Amp) 12v (So I'm guessing that would be 900w MAX ?) So what can I get for this? I have a 2 Speaker Box and 1 Speaker Box (12" inch) Thank You for any help!

    Since your amp isn't as high a quality as a Rockford fosgate, Kicker, JL, or Sony doesnt mean it wont make your subs hit. Your amp probably runs at 200 rms x 2 @ 2 ohms and about 100 rms x 2 @ 4 ohms and if your looking for price over quality look into Jensen, Dual, Pyle, or Pyramid subs that are about 500 watts max (about 150 watts rms). This website www.mmxpress.com has really cheap prices and a huge selection, you should have no problem finding subs there for the price you are looking for.

that guy that said ur 1000w amp would be 600+ is a noob. You can get 1000w amps for less than a 100 bucks depending... If you want anything good.. forget abt spending $30 on a sub.. Sony xplods are ok for a budget. they arent great, by no means.. Get Kickers cvr.. or alpine type r or type x

Well, first of all. its not actually a 1000w amp or it would be worth about $600-$800 dollars. If you were going to run a legitimate business that sold legitimate stereo equipment would you name yourself MAGNA-AUDIO? about the only company you can trust anymore in stereo equipment is alpine. However, since your running a really low quality amp you can run about any sub woofer and it will work fine. if you buy something fancy your amp will not be able to supply enough watts to match and you will have wasted money buying something that you will never get full potential out of. so just buy a cheap sub woofer off craigslist and be happy until you can save up enough money to buy some quality equipment.
