What cables should I have to connect speakers amp and sub in my car?

Can i connect 4 speakers and 1 sub to my amp?

  • i have a 700 watt sony explode amplifier, 4/3/2 Chanel, 4 ohm, i have 4 speakers totaling 350 rated watts, i would like to connect a 350 watt sub as well, so do i connect both left and both right speakers together then make the amp 3 channel and connect the sub to the 3rd channel? or is there a better way?

make sure your amplifier is 2ohm stable if you plan to wire more than one speaker to an amplifier output. I would suggest googling OHMS law it diacusses the correct way to wire resistences (parallel or series or a combination of both) is the sub a dual voice coil? the best way would be to get another amplifier. I would disconnect the rear speakers all together and then bridge the amp to 3 channel mode. Run just the fronts and the sub (untill you get another amp) In a high fidelity system the rear speakers are typicall only used to pull the soundstage rearwards and not used for producing the volume of the system. I had a Mustang years ago that had 65 speakers connected to a 2 channel amplifier, I won 5 competitions with it in the 100watt class, many times getting loudest and clearest of show.
