What is stereo stable?

What Factory Delco Stereo will fit my Buick?

  • Well here I am once again asking for advise about my car, but surprise surprise! I'm not trying to fix the damned thing this time! I've got a 1994 Buick Century and I want to put an original Delco stereo in it. My car was once a fleet vehicle for the city and they weren't going to pay for any frills, so it's just a bare bones car. Hand crank windows, just radio, no cup holders, all that stuff. So what I want to know is what other GM models' stereos will fit and work in my car. All I really need it the ones with the cassette player in them, but the hard to find Tape deck/CD player ones would be just grand. I guess my question would be, could I take a stereo from a Cadillac and have it work and fit in my Buick, or is that just not possible. Cause I thought GM parts were supposed to be interchangeable. I'm sure I could just go up to the dealer and ask for a list of part numbers that would work in my car, but I thought I'd save myself the snobbery I'm sure to receive for asking such a question. Just a note, I refuse to get an aftermarket stereo. The ones in my price range look awful and can't compare to the sound quality of the Delco. By the way, if this question has expired and you still want to answer, by all means email me! Chances are I've not gotten a new stereo yet.
