How can i fix my camcorder and the cassette?

Is there any way I can fix my XM cassette car adapter from ejecting?

  • It all started with a Darby cassette adapter playing music in my car. It thus randomly ejected from my car cassette dock. In thinking it was broken, I bought a new XM cassette adapter. I tried this new adapter yet no luck. I looked on google and youtube for ways to fix this. There were alot of things pointing in the direction of auto-reverse which i tried. I tried these four methods: 1. Taking out the rubber cog 2. Taking out the rubber cog And reversing the wire to the other side 3. Taking out the two small parts and the rubber cog leaving the big main cogs in 4. Taking out the two small parts and the rubber cog leaving the big main cogs in AND reversing the wire None worked after i inserted each method into my cassette dock. I could hear music for a few seconds then my stereo (i guess) tries to reverse the cassette and ejects out. Is there any other way i can fix this? Is it even a auto-reverse problem? The stereo isn't a problem im sure. It's just getting really annoying that i bought this new cassette and tried these different methods, yet it doesn't work. Thanks

  • Answer:

When you turn one of the reels on the adapter with your finger does the other one turn at the same time ? If not your cassette player sees only 1 reel turning & "thinks" it's eating the tape & ejects it. Find an adaptor that turns both reels at the same time.
