How good is 1200W Power Acoustik amp?

Can't get a Power Acoustik amp to power on?

• I have a 500 watt power acoustik dual channel amp powering two mtx 8in. truck subs. I realized only one sub was working so to make sure nothing was wrong with the other I bridged both subs on the same connections. Both worked but after a minute when the bass got heavy the amp shut off and now i can't get it back on, I've checked the power and its grounded the only thing i get is a red light when i take off the ground then when i reground it nothing at all. It should have a green light on the side and a blue light on top to show everythings working right. Anyone know how to fix it?

  I have a power akoustik also as my second amp. Its going in protect mode because your wires are not correctly run it sounds like. Sounds like you are overdriving the amp. I use to try and bridge my amp with my bass subs but it would always cut off...It even cuts off when i tried to bridge my 6x9s which are on it now. U need to rund the wires at stereo mode (regular) and not bridge them. Which model number is it. I have the book and all of the amps are not correctly rated on the actual amp. the watts are actually lower than they rate them. i fyou want to bridge or get more power buy a monoblock amp for your subs and use the power acoustik for your highs, thats what i did. Unless u have a bigger amp than the one i have then that means your subs are too big or u are running the wires wrong.
