How do I change the front speakers in my car?

Speakers for car help?

  • so i got like a toyota corolla and wanted to fix in new speakers . pretty new to all this stuff . well i just got installed a sony headunit , model CDXGT300MP. its a cheap one . But first of all does the headunit affect the sound quality much , if so im thinking of buying a new headunit but dont know. Now i just wanted to install speakers and wondered if i had to change all 4 speakers in my car . Speaker packages only come in a pair of 2. and whats with all the watts st uff . my head unit says something like 205 watts , and im lost haha. so question one is should i change my headunit , and does it cause a dramatic change in the sound quality? secondly is should i change all 4 speakers or just the front. and finally can some one briefly explain the headunit watts and speaker watt thing. thanks

To start with u already installed a new song headunit right? Sorry I was a little confused by you're wording. If so do speakers next. Yes a headunit does make a big difference but only if your speakers are able to handle producing better sound quality. If u only replace the front two it will make a big difference but I think doing all four would be much better. Watts is how much power your speakers can handle or ur head unit can produce. I'm guessing since ur head unit says 205 its something like. 4x50. To make your speakers sound there best you want to get as close to the speakers rms power rating as possible. Not the peak. Now amping your speakers is a good idea if I have the money/willing to take the time. It helps us speakers preformed better by giving them the power they need and with an amp the power is cleaner so they don't distort at as low of volume. If I decide to amp them then match the amps rms with the speakers rms wattage. Also if I have the money a sub never hurts

Hey I got something for ya .. some people just forgot about this i guess If you had a speaker that is for instance 400 watts RMS and 800 Peak there would be no problems in giving that speaker 500 - 600 watts... just sayin
