Need help with a car Audio System?

Need help with car audio..wanting to install a sub and system and need help deciding what i need?

  • Ok I have a 2009 scion and I am going to try to install a better sound system in it. I have never done this before so anybodies 2 cents would help... so I have a few things from my old car and a buddy of mine....right now I have a 4 channel 1000 watt amp, a 2 channel 750 watt amp, a 15 inch sub in box, an aftermarket jvc headunit....now my question is do I need to hook up the 4 channel amp to my door speakers and use the 2 channel amp as a sub amp or is that not necessary?? I want it to sound good but it just seems like that is a lot of power from both amps...also, do I need to get aftermarket door speakers as well? And what is a capacitor? Do I need one for this setup, especially with 2 amps? Please help, I don't want to get suckered into buying something I don't need....since I have both amps I don't mind hooking both up but is it bad for my car and will it sound better in my car???? Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

  • Answer:

The Denon AVR-1912 is the most full-featured AV receiver we've seen at this price, with built-in AirPlay for Apple's iOS products and six HDMI inputs. Its networking features also include DLNA compatibility and several streaming media services, such as Rhapsody and Pandora. And its sound quality is just a little better than the competing Pioneer VSX-1021-K.

I don't know a whole lot either but you wont need both amps man. it's really not necessary. you want a good balance not so much overpowered. um, you could run the amp to your door speakers if you wanted to, but only if you replace em. for some reason the speakers in the BACK of Scions are pretty crappy. this really dispoints me because the ones in the front sound so good. oh well. but yeah if you wanna replace em go for it. one thing you'll need is the wires that run from your battery to your amp, a ground wire, and remote wire, and obviously speaker wire. I don't really know too much about capacitors either but hope this helps.
