How to install speakers?

Car Audio!!! How to install 10 speakers!!! Multiple amps? How to do it!!?

  • I am installing two pairs of component speakers, i'm also installing one set of coaxial speakers (single speakers)... This is theoretically six speakers because the components will just run through the crossovers. I also want to install a sub, possibly two. How should I power these. Should I get a six channel and power the six speakers and a mono for the sub (s) or get two four channels and run the subs off of a bridged setup????

Get 2 separate amps. Get at least a 2 channel amp for your mids and highs. If your using your crossovers, you shouldn't have a problem with the 2 channel amp but you can go with more channels if you want. Then a monoblock amp for your subs and you should be set.

what i would do is have two seperate amps. one four channel and one two channel. havent seen a six channel yet lol. your components will be getting a 4 ohmn load(most components do) unless the tweeter and mid are both 2 ohmn with the cross over you would be getting two ohmns. i would run my fronts off the components with the 4 channel and my rears off some good loud speakers (with the two channel because most of those are 2 ohmn stable but 4 ohmn bridged and wiring some 8 ohmn loud speakers ( most loudspeakers are 8 ohmn) down to 4 ohmn's. but if you dont like those you could run some 6x9's or 6.5's what ever you want bra at four ohmns a channel.( but that would be wasting a little power out of the 2 channel). if you wanna save a lot of money just get one four channel and power six speakers. two mids two tweeters(components) and two rear speakers( 6x9's or something ) for a sub or subs you would need another amp it could be a mono or two channel. all systems have a rear stage front stage and sub stage for lows. my head unit has a front stage and sub and rear stage. so you might wanna look at the back of your amp and see what kind of rca's your working with. right now i have two amps for each of my subs( two) and one four channel and it gets loud. also what kind of car do you have that has a factory ten speaker layout? lol a caddy?

What was mentioned earlier is correct. What's the power rating on ALL speakers and subwoofer that you wish to run? What load do you run your subwoofer on? Is it a 10 or a 12 or 15 inch sub you wish to run? I ask about the sub size and load, because generally, you could get away with running 2 channels bridged on a 4ohm load to run a single 10" sub. If it's a 12", the bigger subs are generally a bit more powerful, so you will get more benefit from a monoblock. A 6 channel isn't necessary UNLESS you want you a "one amp answers all questions" kind of install. And it also boils down to budget too. Actually.. what's the model numbers on ALL the speakers you wish to run? Email me at [email protected] and I could recommend you some amps (and please give me a budget to work with) that could work for you :)
