Would this be a good amp for my Subs?

Which amp will be good for my 2 kenwood kfc-w3012 subs?

  • alright so im sort of new to this music system stuff so i just wanted to double check on a sub+amp setup i was planning on buying. im planning on buying 2 kenwood kfc-w3012 subs, 1200w max. im planning on buying either a kenwood kac-8105d, which is a 1000w mono amp .. or a kenwood kac-9105d, which is 1800w mono amp my question is which is better for my subs ? will the 1000w not give me a good thump ? will the 1800w blow my subs ? im also open to other name brand amps that you guys think will be good for my subs, thanks

with a pair of 400w rms svc 4's you'd want an amp capable of around 800w at 2 ohms. The 8105 would work, but it lacks a little power. The 9105 would be better. Leave the bass boost at zero and set the gain accurately and it would work well. Both amplifiers will do well, so your looking at budget, and accessories ( Power wire kit, cap, rca's etc..) the 1000W/1800W ratings are peak, as is the 1200W max rating.. The only 2 things you need to worry about with your set up, is ohms, and input voltage. Match you input voltage, to the amps gain & make sure the you wire the subwoofers correctly, to the impediance of your amp, and all should be good! Good Luck!
