Advice on buying subs and an amp?

I'm buying 10" subs for my car and I know nothing about the amp i need.?

  • What kind of amp would i need to get for these subs? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_028V103BP/Visonik-V103BP.html?tp=112 I have no idea what im looking for except i think i need a 2 channel amp with now more than 250 peak rms power? any explanation of what any of these terms im looking for would be great thanks!

    i would go with a 400-500 watt 4 ohm amp well im not findin much and i gotta go but picture ohms as the size of water hose you use (garden or fire hoses for example) the smaller the ohms the bigger the hose do to speak and wattage is the amount of power goin through the coil in order to make it move i hope i helped some

when you look for an amp, compare peak rms power, not watts, since they can handle 500 rms, i would look into an amp that has about 200 peak rms power
