How to use RCA cables?

Quality difference in RCA cables to use with subwoofer?

  • I recently had installed a 10" Infinity Subwoofer rated at 275W RMS along with a mono Apline MRP-500 amp rated at 300W @ 4 ohms. I have been very happy so far with the loudness and quality of the combination when listening to songs with heavy bass. The thing is that I also like listening to Metal/Deathmetal and when the double bass drum starts it sounds like one big bass note instead of individual drum kicks. I suppose this is a response issue as I've tried tuning my system to get optimal sound quality but no matter what setting I apply it doesn't help too much. I started thinking recently that maybe I need better RCA cables going from the deck to the amp. I know that the place in which I had them installed used the cheapest possible cables because the man assisting me forgot to add the RCA cables to the total and thus added them in for free. The real question is would different RCA cables make my sub more efficient and responsive? If so, What are high quality cables to buy(I'm willing to pay for quality).

  • Answer:

I think you should go with RiteAV - Audio Video RCA Cable 25ft RG59 Video plus Stereo Audio Connectors: 3 x RCA Male to Male 25 feet long
