Is my car sound system complete?
-
For my car system I want to get this. Subwoofer - 2 12" by kicker http://www.crutchfield.com/p_2067DCVR12/Kicker-07DCVR122.html?tp=112#details-tab Sub amp - 1200w amp - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23548_Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ1200.1D.html Front Speakers - kicker 5 1/4 - http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-11ds525-5-25-Coaxil-Speakers/dp/B004K57Q8A Rear speakers - 6" x 9" kickers - http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-DS693-3-Way-Speakers-Pair/dp/B004K5AZAQ Head Unit - http://www.abt.com/product/57824/Alpine-CDE133BT.html?utm_source=scfroogle&utm_medium=sc&utm_campaign=froogle 4 Channel amp power pack - http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-KTP-445-4-channel-Power-Amplifier/dp/B002JV7FP6 So that's the system I've picked out and plan on putting in a 95 grand prix. The problem is that I have no knowledge and I dont know if: 1) All of these parts are compatible 2) If this system is complete or if I need other parts 3) What kind of wires I need 4) How much will it cost to get it installed (rough estimate) 5) Any suggestions on changes I should make? 6) What kind of sound should I expect? Any help is really appreciated

Answer:
the subs and amp will work together, speakers are fine. i would ditch the alpine power pack. it is cheap at a lil over 100 bucks, but take a look at Sound Ordnance from crutchfield.com. theyre about the same price but the SO gives u more power, its a decent amp for the money. you should definitely reconsider the head unit. it has one pre amp out. youre gonna want a head unit with 3 set of pre amps(one for front, rear, and sub). that way u can keep some sort of stereo imaging. i always highgly recommend JVC Arsenal KD-AHD79. if ur on a budget and still want quality, this is it. the head unit has 3 set of preamp outs @5volts which means a clean signal to the amps, u can play cds, it has a front usb port, a front and rear auxilary, and HD radio built in all for about 150-160 bucks. i always consider the head unit the "brain" of a stereo so its important to have functionality. minimum wiring gauge would be a 4gauge from ur battery to a distributor block, then the block would split that into an 8gauge(for ur four channel amp), and a 6gauge(for ur sub amp). u dont have to do it that way specifically, its jus one scenario u could use. the sound should be great. anytime u take aftermarket speakers and power them with an aftermarket amp, its a good thing. dnt kno howmuch an install would be being that ie never paid for one. good luck wit it all n enjoy
