  • Ok, I have an MTX thunder audio amplifier hooked up to a 10' Mtx subwoofer..when i turn on the car you could hear a noise coming out of the sub. When i push the gas pedal to accelerate it makes noises on the sub!!! is this normal??did i connect something wrong??help me please :) oh one more thing, What do i have to buy so that the battery wont get discharged fast.??a Capasitador? my amp is 75 X 2 so wut kind do i need?? thank you

  • Answer:

Check your Amplifiers Ground wire, its more than likely the problem its loose or in a bad spot also dont worry about your battery your pushing a very weak amount of power it can handle it! I really dont wanna type a whole long thing about capacitors right now but just dont get one... its a waste of your money and will put MORE strain on your car. btw is your amp bridged to give your sub its max power?

There is only 2 things that can make your sub do that; Did you run your Rca's down the same path as your amps power wire, even shielded Rca's can put off a whining sound if they are too close to the amps power cable or fuel pump. A bad ground at your head unit or amp. You don't need a Cap until you are pushing 500watts Rms or more

Sounds like a bad amp.If you know what your doing you can open it and see what's up.That's only a last resort though.Try to hook the speakers to another amp and see what happens. If it's better you know it's the amp.
