What kind of box and amp for 10inch jl sub?

i have a 10inch jl audio subwoofer i believe its the w0. i use to have 2 but one of them blew so i need a single box. i dont know if i should go with a ported or a sealed...my last box was sealed for 2 of them and it didnt sound that good. i was running the 2 of them with a 420 watt power acoustik amp and that was probably the problem. will that amp be enough power for just the one 10 inch sub. and if not what kind of amp should i buy. thanks

sealed = tighter bass ported = more bass but not so tight what is the RMS of your amp? i have 2x 10w0 as well and they were supplied by JL 500/1 and i guess it blew them up as the subs take 150WRMS recommended.
