Would this be a good amp for my Subs?

Good box recommendation for 3 American Bass xfl 1022 subs and can the 3 subs be powered by a 2 channel amp?

  • Just wondering if there's a way to use a 2 channel amp to power 3 subs and how or if they can be wired to it. The subs are rated at 1000w rms each and amp (mm4000.1d) is underrated at 4000w rms. Looking to go with a 3 ohm load from the amp with three d2 subs for efficiency and I think the subs will still see at least 3400w rms even at a 3 ohm load. Btw, I couldn't find the specs for box size, tuning, and what cubic inches the subs require so I came here hoping someone could help me out. Thanks

  • Answer:

I want you to take a look at OHMs law and do the math on your 3 speakers to work out this 3 OHM circuit. If your 2-channel amp can be bridged to mono, you can connect it to 3 speakers, otherwise you can't divide three speakers equally between two channels. I suggest a more simple design using only 2 speakers. I wonder why in the world would a person want to torture themself with a 4 kilowatt assault. That person probably likes Habanero jam on pancakes and walking barefoot on burning coals. Nobody else is going to answer this question- don't hold your breath waiting.
