How do I file tuition money on my taxes?

Tax advice, what do I need to file my taxes?

• I don't know what paper work we will need to file our taxes this year as many things have change for us this year. I am now a full time student with no job, I recieved a Pell Grant that paid all my tuition and I also took out a subsidized loan, my husband is unemployed and has been drawing unemployment for all of 2009, he also cashed out his Edward Jones retirement plan early on in 2009 because we needed it so bad, we have two children. Can someone tell me how this will affect out return this year and what we need to take with us when we go to file. I wanted to file my taxes myself through the free e-file, but I fear it my be to complicated. Mostly I need to know how my loan and Pell Grant and the retirement money will affect things.

  Well i am in school and I took the tuition expense, also unemployment is taxable. I do my own taxxes every year and I enter my information into Turbo tax and/or taxslayer, just depending on which one is the most helpful. It is really not that hard. I cant imagine Why people pay when it so simple. I usually ask questions like I have one on here now, and sometimes I even call the irs just to be certain I am answering the question correctly. Either way you can try it and if you dont like it then simply do click the send link. I have been doing my taxes for years and have never went wrong with either of the sites i mentioned above. By the way make sure you go through the irs.gov in order to get the free service. Pay close attention, the sites try to trick you into going with the plan that will give you more resources, dont do it, you dont need to. Just click the start return now and register, beaware though, if you go through turbo tax, and use the one that doesnt cost anything, IT DOES NOT SAVE YOUR INFORMATION! and if you are researching information, it will kick you off after awhile. so watch that to.
