How do you get another copy of W-2?

How do i get another copy of my 2006 W2 forms?

  • yes... they are over do, but just completed my taxes for 2006, 2007 and 2008 but am missing the 5 sourses of W2 forms... must have misplaced them..... how do i get new copies??? help please

    Visit your local IRS office in your City to obtain "Wage Information Transcripts" the transcript provides all wages reported to IRS whether it was on a W2 or Form 1099, these only have federal Information not State. Or call 1-800-829-0922 or 1-800-829-8374 for the wage information transcript to be mailed to you or even faxed. Or download Form 4506-T and mail to appropriate address. IRS will only have wage information for the 2006 and 2007 not the 2008, for 2008 you must contact your employer.

You contact the companies that issued them originally (the companies where you worked in those years) and have them send new copies. You must contact each company individually. The government will only assist if you have attempted to contact the companies and they have not supplied the copies after you made the requests.

Contact your previous employers, and they should be able to send you copies.
