Want to buy gold from Australia and im from the UK will i have to pay duty or vat?
-
It is a bullion gold bar 999 purity. Can anyone tell me please thanx

Answer:
I am not sure about duty or vat but yes a bullion bar should be .999 purity. Also as a suggestion if you purchase a bullion coin that is an official bullion of a country, like the "American gold eagle" the legal face value on the coin $50 dollars keeps you from having to pay a large duty on the coin since its currency value is only $50 although the gold value in the coin would be over $1700 at today's spot price.
