  • he sends his money here, so any one can tell me how to show this on tax return !!!

  • Answer:

If you have no income, you don't need to file. Money that he sends home for support is not taxable income to you.

You do not file tax return. Money sent to you by your father is not an income. If your father is a US citizen or resident, he must file his US tax return if his income is more than the filing requirements. Another filing requirement is Form TD F 90-22.1.

You do not show any money sent to you by your father on your tax return, unless he paid you to work or he paid you interest on money that you loaned to him. If he did not pay you to work and you did not loan money to him, and the money that he sent you is the only reason for you to file a tax return, then you do not fill out a tax return. If he did not pay you to work and you did not loan money to him, and you do fill out a tax return, then you fill out your tax return exactly the same way as if he did not send you the money. You do not show any money he sent you on your tax return, unless it was money that he paid you to work or interest on money you loaned to him. However, if he is a U.S. citizen, then all the money that he made, both what he kept abroad and what he sent you, must be shown on his tax return.

You father's income does not affect your tax return in any way. The money he sends you is not income to you.

If you do not work, you do not have to file tax return. Remember, if your father work abroad, he must file his tax and use form 2555 to exclude up to $91500 from Federal tax. Be sure also if you due to any reason must file tax return, check first with your dad if he did file and if he did claim you on his return.

if you have no income you do not file a tax return the money your father sends you is not income to you however, your father may need to find out about his responsibility to file a tax return, especially if he is a US citizen
