Are taxes higher in PA or OH?

I'm filing my PA taxes. Do I only include W-2's from PA?

  • I'm trying to figure out my taxes on my own this year because my dad, who usually helps me, is in the hospital. I live in PA and am filing online. Now my question is, when it asks me to attach my W-2's, do I only include the W-2 information from the job I had in PA? Because I also had a job in Missouri for part of the year. But since I'm filing my PA state taxes, I would only include the information about my PA job, right? And then when I file my MO taxes, I would only include my W-2 from my MO job? Thanks for any help, I'm getting a little desperate!

  • Answer:

First you have to file a Federal return -- then you file a return for each state. All kinds of fun, I know. Use Turbo Tax and it's pretty easy to do.

Other answers

Generally, States that tax income want to see all W-2s to ensure they get their share. For PA, you can use PA Schedule W-2S, and attach any other forms showing PA tax withheld.
