How easy is it to get a job after passing the Uniform CPA exam?

  • Answer:

I don't think it has ever been easy to get a job after passing the exam you have to find someone who will hire you so you can get that 2 yrs under your belt and then find someone that wants a fulfledged CPA, or start your own business and in this down economy, a lot of the firms have let people go

In this kind of economy, the difficulty in getting a job lies w/ how well-connected you are. You can pass the CPA exam to get it over with, which is a wise decision. But, employers know that regardless if you pass the CPA exam, or not, the first year in public accounting will be tough for anyone who does not have experience in the field. So, to answer you question, passing the exam will definitely not hurt your chances of getting a job, but will only help marginally. Regardless, you should still take it just to get it over with. Trust me, working and studying for the exam simultaneously is needlessly difficult.

As long as you have some experience to go with it, it should be easy.

Depends on your college GPA and prior relevant work experience. Also it will depend on where you want to work. Finding a job in Los Angeles or NY is going to be a little easier than Iowa or Alabama.
