Tax Question. Full time student. How to count 5 months?
-
My child enrolled as a full time graduate student for the fall semester at the University of Minnesota. She had to register for classes and attend orientation in August, but classes began in September. Can she be considered a full time student for tax purposes? The law says that she has to be enrolled for any part of 5 calendar months. My question is "enrolled" means attending classes or participating in the program?
