How to file tax extensions?

How can i file a tax return while i'm working as a waiter?

  • Here is my situation, i'm working as a waiter and paid by tips from the customers and naturally don't have w2 forms. what i want to ask is, i want to file tax return, in order to do that how i'm going to pay tax? In my college, they have a service to help people filling out the tax return forms, but i don't know what to tell them. because i don't want to look like somebody who is not paying tax and wants to file a tax return. i want to pay tax then i want to file a tax return. what i want to learn is how can i pay tax before fill out the tax return forms? or is there any way that i can state in the tax return? thanks in advance for helping.

  • Answer:

Do you get paid in checks? Not personal checks from the owner, but business checks. You should receive a w2 form. If you only get paid by tips, or "under the table" pay, then your not getting any w2's or have proof that you worked at all. It's also illegal.
