How long should long runs be?

Unemployment how long do u get and what can u do after it runs out for the first 12 month?

  • do any one no how long unemployment last is it 18 or 24 months

  • Answer:

New UI claims are for no more than 26 weeks, i.e 6 months. There have been several federal extensions that provided coverage for up to 99 weeks in some limited cases, however all of those expire on Dec 20, 2011 unless Congress acts to extend any of them or add any new extensions. With the way that things are going in Congress these days, don't plan on any help there.

I would just keep sending in as many applications to jobs your good at. And it is definitly 24 months. so good luck on finding a job :)

The time and the amounts of UI benefits are limited and you will only get the CORRECT answer for your situation when you go to your local UI office and apply for your benefits at that time in your life. Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 11/16/2011

Basic unemployment is 26 weeks. Right now there are extensions possible that can take it to as much as 99 weeks, depending on what state you're in, but the extensions will end next month and it will revert to the normal 26 weeks, unless some new law is passed.
