It is an alloy (18/24 = 3/4) Pure gold is 24 karat, which is too soft to make something and have it retain its shape. Just be careful though that your intended item is not PLATED ( i e only the outside of the item is gold) or even thinner. (I forget those terms, but like "foil" and "gold leaf"). Deal with a reputable seller.

You might be surprised to know that it only means the clasp is 18K (karat) gold. The rest of the bracelet could be gold tone or gold plate. The only way to be sure is to have it tested.
