What is "tax" when you get a paycheck?

Tax refund question - If I only get about $103 every week in my paycheck, how much will my tax refund be?

  • I get about $11 taken out of my check every week, I guess that's tax. I've also been working since August. How much do you think my tax refund will be? Thanks in advance!

  • Answer:

You should get every penny back of income tax back. Income taxes don't really kick in until you have earned about $6,500 in a year. Look at your last paystub from 2009. How much income tax was withheld during the year? That's what you'll get back.

There is no way to know. You do not provide NEARLY enough details

can't tell, need to know how many dependents if any you have, what other deductions etc.

I think you can expect to get nothing. You're probably not having any income tax deducted so there's nothing to refund. Most of the $11 is probably social security and medicare which doesn't get refunded. There may be a couple of dollars deducted for something unique to your employer which probably also won't get refunded and even if it was you'd only be looking at a few dollars anyway.

No way to tell yet.
