I'm Concerned About the Tax Refund Delays, Has Anyone Gotten Their Refund From Jackson Hewitt Yet?
-
I am just starting to get worried after reading all the issues with peoples' refunds being delayed. I filed my taxes at Jackson Hewitt on 1/22 and according to them they were accepted later that same day. I am getting the assisted refund which I had been told would ready for pick up in 8-15 days after acceptance. Sunday 1/30 would have technically been day 8 and today would have been day 10. I called Jackson Hewitt on 1/30 and was told at that time that it had been accepted and that I would be receiving my check within 8-15 days. I'm wondering if I should call them again or wait a few more days. According to IRS WMR it says my return is in process and I should receive my refund by 2/8 which is actually 17 days later. I've used Jackson Hewitt Assisted Refund for the last 4 or 5 tax years and have never had any problems. Usually we've always had either our paper check or DD within the 8 days. I'm just wondering if anyone did their taxes through Jackson Hewitt this year has received their refund yet?? I'm really depending on that money for the rent that we fell behind on due to my husband trying to get his SSD and some final school expenses for a class that starts in a week or so.

Kristi is right ... but the checks u seen at JH could those have been RAL? Mine say it should be DD by Feb 8 I hope so I know alot people have been having issues this year
They told you 8-15 days. That doesn't mean you can expect it in 8 - and it's nowhere near 15 days yet.
If you filed on the 22nd, the earliest that IRS is announcing they will direct deposit is February 4th. Unless your return made it to the faster CADE system, that's the earliest (mid morning on the 4th) you should expect it. I will say, I had to go into Jackson Hewitt last week to get copies of my old returns, and they were literally inundated with refund checks that arrived as early as Wednesday night and Thursday...but I would think anyone getting them that soon would be a blessing. I know it sucks to be patient when you'd like that money in hand...but just remember in the future, straight DD from IRS also takes 8-15 days, so the only benefit of the Jackson Hewitt Assisted Refund is the ability to not pay your prep fees up front and if you're waiting for a paper check versus direct deposit, that is about the only time you get it quicker by using Assisted Refund versus waiting for IRS to cut the check and mail it to you.
