  • I graduated in may of 2008 and after that I never furthered my education am I still considered a full time student for taxes?

    For 2008 you would be, since you were in school for some part of each of five months, January through May, assuming you were a full time student that term.

The school determines if you are a full time student. If you were a full time student for any part of 5 months during the tax year -- using the school's definition of full time -- you can be claimed as a dependent if under age 24 and you didn't provide more than half of your own support.
