What will be my social security benefit if I make 22k a year and I apply for benefit at 64?
-
I currently make 22k and that is almost nothing. I just looked at my Social Security Benefit report and I would get 1100 a month if I retire today. But what will be my net benefit if I am working full time and I apply for social Security. Can someone please give me an approximate? Will my benefits go back to being normal after I quit my full time job?

Answer:
if you apply for early SS you will be limited to the amount you can continue to earn from working, I believe it is $1130/mo, but check www.SSA.gov for the exact amount and no, the benefits remain the same until your retirement age if you don't exceed the limit

Social Security retirement benefits are roughly 20% of your pre-retirement income. The annual statement they send you will give you an estimate of what you will get.
Go to the SS site and run the various scenarios through their calculator setup.

Yes unless you continue to work and still contribution to the social security trust fund after year that you reach your FRA full retirement age an then each until you are 70 and do continue to work and contribute to the SSB trust fund it is possible that you might get some increase in your monthly payment amount after the year of your FRA and until the age of 70 http://ssa.gov/ Estimate your retirement benefits Apply online for retirement benefits Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 10/22/2011
If you take your social security benefit before you are full retirement age of 66 or 67 you lose $1 of your Social Security benefit for every $2 of income you earn over $14,800 per year. I dont see how an annual salary of $22,000 per year gives you as much as $1100 per month in Social Security benefits.
