Why does refund get delayed?

WMR says I should get my refund by March 1, 2011. Does this mean it will be delayed?

  • I filed a simple 1040 form with no deductions, just claiming myself as single. WMR says if there are no delays or I owe no taxes I should get my refund by March 1, 2011. But I have been reading that there is a delay for all refunds that give March 1, 2011 as the expected refund date. As of this morning (wed 2/23 at 1:00 am) there has been no change in the information on WMR. Should I not expect my refund this Friday?

    And what day did you receive your acknowledgment from the IRS that they had accepted your 1040 income tax return as you had filed? OK so they are telling that BY March 1 2011 you might have your REFUND amount available to you to use. Now if you will only allow them a few more hours this morning Wednesday 23 of February at 4 AM in Louisiana the message might say that your refund amount will be SENT OUT this Friday the February 25 2011 in the early AM to the account number that you chose to use for your DD refund amount and after that time it will be up to your ACCOUNT HOLDER to make your REFUND amount be available to you for your use and the process could take a few more days depending on who is your account holder and when your account holder will post the DD amount to your account number. Had a friend recently that it did not take but 6 days to file and receive the amount of the DD refund from the IRS. Same situation except its 7:13 pm on thursday the 24th. I have been checking my refund ststus all day and when i went to check it about a half hour ago the site said i was imputting my info wrong. My refund is supposed to dd tomorrow. And no... i dont owe anything to anyone for my refund to be delayed. Anyone else still getting the message that your refund will be in by march 1st or did everyone already get their dd date?

Mine was just like yours but on Friday evening IRS WMR said they had no info. on my return but this morning 2/26 IRS WMR says I should expect my refund by March 8th. So hopefully we all should see it on the next deposit date.

I checked at 3:00 AM and it was down for updates. I just checked again 6:19 AM, and it said "direct deposit schedule for Feb 25, 2010." So check it again. :) good luck I filed on Jan 20, 2011. It was held until Feb 14. and was accepted Feb 15. WMR updated on the 16th and had a date of March 1 for expected refund. WMR updated on the 13 stated a scheduled deposit date of Feb 25.

ares still sead the same as yours as of right now all we can do is wait tell tomorrow and see if it changes trust me it is deriving me crazy with all this waiting can you tell me ware you seen this we have them same date as you and rally like to know im about to crazy here lagreta can you tell us what date you got your acceptance from the irs we got ares on the 15 just praying now that we get it friday
