What are unemployment benefits?

What website can I go to file unemployment benefits?

  • I was getting unemployment benefits three weeks ago but I was able to work more hours and get paid more than the weekly benefit i am supposed to receive, so EDD cut off my weekly benefits. Last week, and this this week, I work less hours due to no available work. How can I re-open my unemployment benefits again?

  • Answer:

Do an online search for "<name of your state> government" (example: Michigan government). Once you're at their website, there should be a link to the Department of Labor or Unemployment.
