Anyone else having my particular issues with Tax refund?

Problems about my 2012 tax refund please help?

  • So I filed my taxes on Jan 17 2012, and I just received an email saying I wont receive my refund till Feb 7, 2012. Is anyone else having issues with this? I was told by my Tax preparer that I would receive my refund no later then Jan 27, and the Tax bracket said I will receive it on Jan 25th. So I'm just really confused and any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • Answer:

Dont bother calling the IRS for answers, all they will give you is generic, you have to wait for the three weeks it takes. And WMR is now saying they cant even find my return. Grrrrrrr

who sent you a email The Irs does not send emails The IRS website says by the 7th. That is the generic message people are getting who filed after the 11 am cut off time. It will up date to a exact date when your return is finished processing. There is no need to worry.

Just because you filed your taxes on the 17th, doesn't mean they accepted it on that day and for you to get a refund date of the 25th your return would have had to have been accepted before 11:00 a.m. on the 18th. It takes 24-48 hours after you send in your return for it to be accepted by the IRS. To boot, they were having computer issues at the IRS the morning of the 18th. So it is likely that your refund didn't get accepted before the 11:00 am cut off for deposits on the 25th. Which would put you on the Feb.1st cycle. Yyou are getting a refund deposit date of BY Feb 7th. Which means anytime before the 7th of february. So just keep checking your account..it is likely it will go in earlier.

So the Tax prepration service told you already, the IRS website already stated the date. How can people here tell you a different date ? Silly questions make me laugh !

I filed my taxes on 01/6/12 with TaxAct , it was accepted by IRS on 01/13/12, updated on WMR (WHERE IS MY REFUND) on 01/18/12 , stating i should receive my tax refund by 01/31/12. I was among the early filers irs accepted on 13th. Today i checked WMR , and it says should receive my refund by 25th and i should wait till 30 before contacting irs again. Your status will change to the date that is on irs chart. If there is no issues with ur refund.

I DID MINE WITH TURBO TAX IRS DOES NOT UPDATE EVEYDAY I WAS TOLD UPDATES ARE DONE ON MONDAYS ONLY! I called THIS MORNING AT 9A THEY OPEN FOR CALLS 7AM U CAN CALL: 800-829-1040 this morning 1/25/12 as mine refund was NOT in my account as it was to be and I was told IRS has 3 weeks to process return, and that the IRS ONLY updates once a week on MONDAYS. I was told my taxes were being processed there are NO issues and they should be released by January 31, 2012 and that NO release has been updates so no moneys will be direct deposited till after nest system update of of NEXT MONDAY JANUARY 30th. I was told that direct deposits are going in daily. U can call and they can tell u if your moneys have been released for payment. You can call the IRS and get a LIVE person at:1-800-829-1040 to bypass all the prompts just keep hitting 0 a few times the auto system will say they dont understand your response do it a again and after 2/3 times it connects u to an operator but be WARNED!!! I had to wait & listen to music for aprox 20 min to get the operator then he/or she will put u on hold AGAIN to speak to someone in the PERSONAL TAX DEPT that took 25min on hold with that wonderful... (NOT!) music but I got my answer. I hope this helps. Source(s): IRS 1-800-829-1040 TO BYPASS ALL THE MESSAGES JUST HIT 0 AFTER 2/3 TIMES U WILL B

All these previous answers are irrelavant. I was advised by numerous people that the IRS was down from Jan 17th to jan 18th AM. THEREFORE the IRS extended their cutoff time from the 18th to the 20th @ 11AM. I say you wait til Wednesday, the IRS updates their systems on Wednesdays on their site.
