Blue static on computer screen?

Blue screen on Start up of computer?

  • Title really says it all. About two weeks ago I turned my computer on and then... Blue Screen. The blue screen did not stay no more then five(5) seconds before my computer automatically restarted. So no, I didn't get a chance to write down the code because of how fast the blue screen went by. So about a week later, it did it again. Again, the screen lasted about five seconds... This time it offered a recovery thing in case any data was damaged. Recommended, I selected it... then during that I got another Blue Screen. This time, the screen stayed and I got a code. 0X00000000A Looking this up, it apparently means something is wrong with the memory or something? But I ain't sure if this is the same code every time since every other blue screen I get flashes by so fast that it is impossible to get a proper code to look up -_- so, I assume that this error is the same thing ever time. At this rate, the blue screen happens only when I start my computer up and no other time. and it restarts on its own only about five seconds after... So I assume it isn't anything too dangerous otherwise my PC wouldn't just restart itself so nonchalantly. But going to geek squad today while passing it by, I was told that Blue Screens can indeed kill your computer... which worries me. Yet other friends tell me that Blue Screens are not that bad and can happen anytime without really hurting your PC... Most of the time... Still, I'm worried. If its a memory problem, will the problem be fixed if I remove some data? Like unneeded programs(Games for example)? And what are the odds my PC will die? Or is it a dust problem? I know this thing needs to be cleaned out of dust. Please and Thank You.

  • Answer:

Odds are that its hardware going bad. I recommend doing a backup of all the data you can. You should also be able to run hardware diagnostics. On Dell machines you can do this by hitting F12 at the "DELL" boot screen, if you can make it there. Then choose the diagnostics. http://nmetzlerconsulting.com//
