Using the scanner when printer ink is out?
-
I have a Canon MP470 printer/scanner. I bought a newer printer and have been using it, so the ink in the Canon printer has run out--however, I still need to use it as a scanner. But apparently because the ink has run out the scanner will not operate. This makes no sense, right?! Is there a way to get my scanner to work without buying an ink cartridge for a printer I don't use?

Answer:
Sorry, but you do need your printer to be fully functional in order for all printer options to work. i.e. printer ink, scanner etc.

Try to use the software installed in your pc to do the scanning , instead of using the panel scan button
