How to not feel sad when I wont get flowers for valentines day?

• me and my boyfriend have been dating for six months. He just recently got a new job so he's pretty broke right now when it comes to money. We told each other that even if we can't celebrate valentines day on the actual day, well celebrate it another day later. Well every Valentines day a lot of women at my work receive flowers from their husband, fiance, boyfriend etc. I know how expensive flowers can be..especially for Valentines day. How can I try not to be sad when i know i wont receive any from my boyfriend? I know he cant afford hardly anything and we probably wont even be celebrating it that day because he cant. I'm trying not to be sad about this but he hasnt given me any flowers at all since we've been dating and I would love it if he would..but I know he can't. Also..i was hoping we'd get to celebrate it this weekend but i found out he'll be gone to town in the morning but said he might come see me later but said its not for valentines day..just to see me. I was really wanting to go to this valentines day swing dance with him saturday night but now he thinks next friday or saturday would work for us. I just dont know what to do..i know i shouldnt feel awkward about this but its our first valentines day and I wanted it to be really special. Any advice please to get over this feeling? I just wanted to go all out and try something new..even pay for it if i have to.. Help? I love him so very much. Lots of the girls i work with know i have a boyfriend so im going to feel weird when i dont get any flowers even though i know he cant afford them.

  You dont have to have one day feel special, everyday should feel that way with him. You never know maybe he will go out pick a bunch of wild flowers and give them to you. trust me, you have alot of v days to look forward too :-)
