How do I get rid of a firewall blocking my Limewire?

I can't get my Firewall to stop blocking Limewire!?

  • My Limewire says it's dectected a firewall...so I go to my Control Menu, then to my security settings and then I make Limewire an exception. I 've done this a billion times and restarted my computer. It still detects a firewall. What do I do?

    Pretty simple, Limewire needs 6346 open tcp/udp as well as a listening port.Just go to your firewall and hit exceptions,Add limewire to the list of exceptions.add two ports tcp/udp name it Gnutella.both ports should be 6346.

what security software do you have installed, could be causing the problem...do you have internet securities installed like norton, i advise to uninstall it

it's detect firewall because your computer is protected by firewall there should be a window pop up whether to continue block or unblock limewire when you make the exception,firewall will not block your limewire make sure that you make exception to correct port
