How to get money back or file a report for scam for a iternet scam?
-
Ok so i just started working at a moving company office like 2 and a half weeks ago, the printer was not working so my boss was pissed, so i decided to look up techinal support online and found a number for cannon printer technical troubleshooting support (which is the brand of the printer at the office) so i called it up thinking it was the cannon company, so as i'm speaking to them they ask me to do a few things on the computer, then told me i needed to pay to get it fixed which was about 50$ . They provided the website for me to go to (iYOGi) something something ,then gave me a code so they can access my computer and fix the problem . ...they took a lonngggg time to look thru my whole computer and fix the printer ... when it was all done ...they gave me a 1 week to call back if any more problems..but ofcourse the printer had problems again like 5 times ...sooooooo todaay my boss asked me to call them again to tell them the web browser isnt working , so happens that it says IYOGI! , i called them up they said that my 1 week things expired and i need to pay 160$ ..which my boss said no ... i think its a scam to get everyones money , they mess up the computer so that we will have to call them back ....now they don't want to fix the brower! how do i report?? this kind of situation!! ? anndd why was i speaking to iYOGI company ? when i called cannon technical support !?

Answer:
If you didn't find that number on Canon's official website then you should stop trying to fix ANY computer problems. NEVER CALL ANYTHING BUT THE NUMBER ON THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE. IYOGI is notorious for stuffing search engine results with fraudulent sites and supposed tech support numbers. I can assure that Canon and anyone else does NOT endorse them. About all you can do at this point is back up any data you need, wipe the drive, and reinstall the OS and software. They've probably rooted your system five different ways.
