Viruses are repeatedly trying to get into my computer, but I have virus protection and a firewall. HELP?
-
Hi. I don't think I have a virus, but some keep repeatedly trying to get into my computer. I use Microsoft Security Essentials, and its been keeping my computer safe, but recently, I used FaceBook on my PC, and the "Koobface" virus tried to get into my computer. It asked me to download something, but my computer froze up. The Security Essentials said it detected a virus, and it cleaned my computer, but since then, The "Koobface" Trojan (worm/virus) and the "Renos" Trojan (worm/virus) keeps trying to get into my computer. Its only these two, and they try to get in every couple minutes or so. Why? My firewall is up, and the virus protection is working well. (Whenever the protection detects the virus, it cleans my computer.) Yesterday, fake virus protection things and pornography ads kept popping up, but it stopped now. The viruses just keep trying to get in. Any suggestions? Should I get a better virus protection, or what?

Answer:
I would try disconnecting from the internet. I had a trojan trying to get into my pc through the internet but i kept blocking it, eventually i just unplugged my ethernet cord and it was all good. Try this for like 1 hr or something.

MalwareBytes works pretty good: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=mncol Also, if you don't have virus protection on your PC you can do a free scan here: http://www.bitdefender.com/scanner/online/free.html If this fails, backup all your data, re-install Windows and before restoring your backed up data, scan it for viruses.
