What are the difference between Norton AntiVirus and Symantec AntiVirus?

How can I activate my norton antivirus when I can't access the net due to virus on pc?

  • My pc is telling me I have a virus. So I go buy norton antivirus 2010, install it, but it won't activate and fix the virus because to activate it needs to connect to symantec website but because of the virus, when I open my browser it tells me "visiting this website may harm your computer" and then it takes me to a live antivirus install/purchase site! Please help it's doing my head in and my norton expires in 14 days if I don't activate it.

    That's why I chose Kaspersky. You can download the software in safemode, put in the activation code as well and then run a scan. Then after you restart your computer, you can have it download any updates and download run another scan. You might try it this way with Norton. It's been awhile since I have used Norton.
