I had IE7 and no problems but with IE8 I am having problems with cookies. I have set the Security to Medium and Low but this still shows up as my cookies are disabled. Why?? Ramesh

Answer:
You need to check your virus protection. Often times, the IE has very little control over what cookies it does and does not accept. Usually, the problem is an overbearing virus protection program that is inhibiting you from storing the cookies you want. Norton is a very good exam of this. My recommendation is to check a few things before ruling IE into the mix: Virus Protection - Check the internet settings on the virus protection. Any toolbars - Usually, toolbars come loaded with stuff you don't need and already have, like the yahoo toolbar and google and any other third party toolbar. Your Firewall settings - could be as simple as an overaggressive firewall. If I were you, i'd start there.

Im not sure what IE7 or IE8 is. But set to - allow all cookies to work. Then change back to medium later.
In IE8, click on: 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Privacy' > 'Advanced' > Override automatic cookie handling Allow First-party cookies and block Third-party cookies. First-party cookies are set by the web site you are actually visiting and some won't work without cookies enabled. Third-party cookies are set by e.g. advertisers on that web site, these are the ones you particularly don't want.
go to tool and internet options click privacy advance settings.and in the box that says allow cookies click automatic and promt.
