What causes my computer to slow when I log into Yahoo email?

    it's probably from the amount of emails u have in ur inbox. my mom had over 700 and it wud take forever to load, but when she deleted it down to 250 it went much faster. try that. good luck!

Well, That happens to me as well.

It's just a lot to load on Yahoo e-mail.. too much info on one page causes that slow computer.. if you increased your internet speed that wouldn't happen.. the more bandwidth you have the faster the computer you will have. I have 100.00 Mbps and it runs pretty smooth, but occasions like Yahoo e-mail. If you wanna know how much speed you have do the following.. Ctrl+Alt+Delete and click the networking tab.. find your speed.

A lot of 3rd party rubbish (advertising) comes through the mail page which factors in. Try turning them off for a bit of improvement. INTERNET EXPLORER does not handle 3rd party assets very well and won't give nearly the control as Firefox. Internet Explorer users, do this first (IE, pre-8, should NOT be used: to many 'broken' security aspects): Tools> Internet options> Security tab> tick the "Internet" icon> Security level box> set slider to "Medium high". Back to Internet options> Advanced tab: here check 'Override automatic....'; 'Allow session cookies'; 'Allow 1st party cookies' & ►'Block 3rd Party Cookies'.
