Can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to set my default email to aol in windows 7?

when i click on a email link it says it cant perform the task as the default mail client has not been selected i thought it was straight foreward but im not too sure

You need to set your mailto link. The mailto: link was designed when there was no webmail and people had dedicated e-mail clients on their computer. Some web browsers can make it work. Firefox lets you set it up. Yahoo required you install the Yahoo toolbar. It different for each browser or e-mail.
