How do I make the caps lock key a third shift key?

Really bad computer problems!!!?

  • First of all all of my keys (laptop) are using their secondary purpose when i try to make a {three} it makes a # ! when i hold shift it still doesnt use the original purpose like the numbers! my numbers pad on the side wont work either even though the num lk is off> i cant even make periods! SECOND when i click a link it opens up a new page instead of a new tab or staying on the same page this is really hard to explain without the correct punctuation and all but PLEASE help! ps my caps lock is reversed now! when the light is on it does lower case and vice versa :(

    Do this >>>>> Start > Control Panel > Printers and other hardware...click on keyboard...then click the hardware tab...it will show you that the keyboard is working or not...or defective

Maybe your keyboard is set to a different language. And i have no idea about the second one.

Try this first... You will need to be logged on as an administrator in order to do this. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Double-click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. See if there's a warning triangle next to your keyboard driver. If that's the case, try rolling back/updating the driver (right click). If that fails or you don't have one to roll back - look on the manufacturer's site for the correct, updated, drivers for your keyboard/OS. Or as a last resort, post make/model and I'll tell you how to access the recovery partition (if present). ©Techno
