I can't get a reset for my youtube password...?

I type in my username so they can send me an email giving me the ability to reset my password, and I get the email (yahoo). But then it says I log in through gmail (which I set up that way but it never worked) therefore I have to reset it there. But when I use the link to go to gmail to reset my password it resets my gmail password and not youtube. Please help.
