What kind of laptop lock should I get?
-
I just bought my very first laptop which I'm going to be using for college so I'm looking for a laptop lock to prevent theft. I know laptop locks aren't that secure, and anyone with wire clippers could take it. But how many people have wire clippers in the back pocket? Anyway, I want a laptop lock so if I'm studying in the library, I can leave the laptop on the desk for a few seconds to get a book or something. I've heard bad things about combination locks, but I just see so many more of them! Also, I don't want to spend too much on the lock (looking to spend around $20). So which laptop lock is better? Combination or keyed?

Answer:
They are all pretty much the same...they prevent people who aren't REALLY thieves from being tempted...beyond that if someone wants your LT they'll take it no matter what lock it is.
