SSID and WEP-128bit Security for new Router with Same SSID?
-
I installed a new router recently, naming the SSID the same as the old one. The network security ID I used on the new router is WEP-128 bit. I've been able to connect with all my computers (including one new one and one visitor) by entering the network security key but I noticed for one of my computers (running on Windows Vista) that it connected without needing to enter the network security key. Can this be the case? Is it because I named the SSID the same as the old one? Or is my router unsecured without any network security? Thank you. Norman

Answer:
Vista saves your Key so you don't have to type it again and its probable using the old settings, which are the same as your new ones, to connect.
