Can I restrict which members can access the Files?

PC restrict/limit access software on administrative account?

  • Hi i need a software which have the following features: * limit access to cd/dvd/usb flash drives /to ask for password if there is attempt to use drives * to not allow ANY executable type file to be downloaded from internet nor started without ask password * to not allow ANY alter of any settings files,icons etc * to have program list of installed programs and everything else to be considered as blocked * the password to not be able to be bypassed by task manager, key combinations or any commonly used method * brute force/dictionary hacker attack - on 3 continuously mistakes of password to lock machine for 1 hour * zero access to control panel, add remove programs, new hardware In two words to give zero chance to user to change,rename,modify,remove,delete,insta… or alter anything which is not included in allowed list. user to have read only access and access only to some programs like word excel etc. And if there is attempt action to be made outside of allowed list to promt for the main pasword. On top of all this soft must be running on XP HOME SP3 machine only on adminitrative account without other OS and without other accounts. And if possible that soft to be freeware. Please feel free to give suggestions.

    Most will be in Group Policy (GPEDIT.msc) and the others will be in making Users restricted in User Accounts (CompMgmt.MSC)

MacMan you obviously doesnt see the problem. Editing group policies and making second account for users are not acceptable. On that machine can exist only admistrator account otherwise system crashes at multiple accounts because some of software and hardware does conflict and can be running only on admin account. Editing group policies isnt decision either because user can re edit them acording his/her wishes since have the admin rights. I have found a solution in one cafe management software but there was problem with licenses cause the company doesnt give me license for gun shop store. /smartlaunch 4.1 software/ So the question is how to do all that blocking. What is the software which can do all his ONLY on administrator and no other account and without touch the group polocies?
