How do I fix the "Specified path is too long" error?

Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file every program?

• I got the virus windows 7 virus protection or something, and while trying to fix it I went into processes and stopped the process that seemed to pop up every time I tried to open something... what I did was remove access to everything... now when I try and click on anything, the process doesn't popup, but it gives me the error "windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to view this item." basically, I'm out of ideas, I can't restore permissions to the virus (if the virus is doing this) because it's no longer poping up in the processes, but I also can't open any programs, and I mean every single program, except file folders.

Enter your username and password. Use the "System Restore" button to restore your computer to the time before you were infected with this virus. Download Malwarebytes (safe link below) to your computer if you can. Save it to your desktop under a different name. Use a flash drive if the virus doesn't allow it loaded directly on your computer. Run the program and it should find and remove the virus. If this program works for you and you want to keep it, I suggest using the paid version. It is one of the best security program for your computer. Just remember to remove any other security software because they may interfere with one another and cause more problems.
